    TABLE OF CONTENTS:

This month, we are helping enterprise architects and their teams spend less time on manual data work and more time acting on what they find. Shipped this month: a refreshed workspace experience, semantic search, plain-language configuration for automations and calculations. Coming in August and September: bulk inventory editing, workspace-to-workspace synchronization, and automated discovery inbox rules.

      Announcements

Benchmark your AI agent governance against enterprises worldwide

AI agents are being deployed at pace, but governance is not keeping up. Our 2026 Agentic AI Survey, based on primary research across 228 companies, finds that 98% have deployed or plan to deploy AI agents, yet only 17% have visibility into agent performance or compliance. 48% have no clear roles or responsibilities for AI agents, and while 63% say enterprise architects should lead AI agent governance, only 34% are actually involved today. Download the full report in English or German.

      Upcoming major changes

In our April newsletter, we said we would launch an open-source repository of AI agents and skills in June. We have not delivered on that yet, and we apologize for the delay. We are still working on it and will let you know as soon as it is available.

      Recent feature releases

Find the right fact sheets faster with semantic search

Until now, natural language search has translated your input into filters but has fallen short on questions that require reasoning across relationships and responsibilities. The new semantic search engine understands the meaning behind your query and reasons across your workspace to return results that reflect your fact sheet types, access permissions, and the connections between them, for example, "Do Spain and France use any common software?" or "Which apps deal with invoice data?"

This first release improves search quality across all workspaces when using the MCP server, even when no AI capabilities are enabled. The Enterprise Architecture Assistant and workspace UI follow in subsequent releases.

      One thing to know

In some cases, an agent may not invoke the new search automatically and will fall back to the previous behavior instead. To guarantee the improved retrieval path is used, start your session with: Activate the fact-sheet-search skill. We are working on making this automatic for all queries. For more details and tips, see the SAP Help Portal.

Create and troubleshoot automations and calculations faster

Workspace admins who set up automations to keep data current or calculations to roll up metrics can now do both faster and with more visibility into what is running.

      Automations

Describe your workflow in plain English and get a fully configured automation, including triggers, conditions, and actions, ready to activate. The generated automation references your workspace meta model, so triggers and conditions use your actual fact sheet types, fields, and subscription roles. Every result is editable before you go live. For example: "When the lifecycle phase of an application fact sheet changes to End of Life, send an email to all subscribers."

When an automation fails, you now see exactly which action failed and why. The execution log shows the full run history and can be filtered by status, date, automation name, and fact sheet, plus a per-action timeline for every run.

      Calculations

Previously, configuring calculations required writing JavaScript. Now you can describe the metric or field logic you need and get a ready-to-run formula that accounts for your workspace's fact sheet types, fields, and relations. The generated code includes inline comments so you can verify the logic before activating. For example: "For business capability fact sheets, sum total cost of ownership across related applications that are in the active lifecycle phase."

The enhanced configurations for automations and calculations are part of base AI capabilities. They require signed AI terms and the activation of base AI capabilities, but not AI credits. The execution logs for automations and calculations are available in all workspaces.

Navigate your workspace more easily, with no changes to how you work

Your workspace is now easier to navigate and more accessible. Common UI elements, including buttons, form elements, banners, navigation, and filters, have a refreshed appearance, with higher contrast and more consistent keyboard navigation aligned with SAP's design standards. No workflows or behaviors have changed. For a broader overview of what changed visually, see our last pre-announcement, which includes additional screenshots.

Further visual updates are planned across Q3 and Q4, including smaller refinements to dialogs and forms such as the fact sheet creation form and export dialogs. The most significant upcoming change is a redesign of the side navigation bar for dashboards, reports, diagrams, and the admin area, which we will pre-announce ahead of its planned release at the start of Q4.

      Features in progress

Keep fact sheet data current at scale, with less manual overhead

Planned for August, you will be able to update fact sheet attributes like lifecycles and relations to other fact sheets in bulk across dozens of records at once by describing what you want in plain language. The Enterprise Architecture Assistant is gaining a new capability directly in the inventory table: it proposes updates across multiple fact sheets based on your intent, and you review, adjust, and approve them in line before anything is saved. The suggestions will be generated using structured data in your workspace, unstructured documents, and web research, and will be available directly in the inventory table.

Eliminate data inconsistencies across workspaces without custom development

Keep architecture data consistent across multiple workspaces without building a custom integration. Planned for September, a new self-service integration replaces custom-built solutions with a governed sync mechanism you control. Whether you want to push lifecycle decisions and retirement guidance from a corporate workspace down to business units, or collect ownership and deployment details across peer workspaces, you define exactly what gets synced and how, with configurable filters, attribute and relation mapping, and conflict resolution options.

Let automation handle routine discovery inbox decisions while you focus on the exceptions

Planned for September, teams that manage discovery inboxes can spend less time on predictable, repeatable decisions and more time on the cases that genuinely need human judgment. Workspace administrators can set conditions once, for example, automatically linking all SAP discovery items from a production environment, and the inbox acts on matching items as they arrive. Rules can also be run retroactively against existing items with a single click. Inbox rules will be available across all inboxes.

      Events

Secure your spot for the SAP Transformation Excellence Summits in Atlanta and Berlin

Registration is still open for both summits. In Atlanta (September 22–24), customer speakers include Jorge Benzaquen, Digital Adoption and Process Transformation Lead at Lockheed Martin, alongside keynote speaker Julie Foudy, two-time Soccer World Cup Champion. The Berlin edition (October 13–15) brings together practitioners from across Europe, with the full agenda and featured speakers to be announced soon.

Meet us at SAP TechEd Berlin, October 27-29

SAP TechEd Berlin is where we bring the AI governance story to life across SAP LeanIX, SAP AI Agent Hub, SAP Signavio, and SAP Cloud ALM. We are presenting six sessions as part of a track focused on AI governance and business transformation, and our product experts will be at the booth for an "Ask the Expert" format so you can go deeper on any topic that matters to your work. SAP TechEd is also available virtually for those who cannot attend in Berlin.
