      Announcements

Reminder: Navigate to many features from a new “More” item

On September 2, 2025, the fifth item in the main navigation will be renamed and enhanced from "Collaboration" to "More". It will serve as a central hub for key product areas, making them easier to locate and use. This new item will consolidate collaboration features with capabilities added over time and previously scattered throughout the workspace, such as presentations, reference catalog, discoveries, and others.

Additionally, we will restructure the header and menus on the inventory page to further streamline user interactions. These updates are designed to simplify navigation, making our powerful features more accessible and intuitive.

Search infrastructure upgrade progresses as planned

We let you know in May 2025 that work on the OR operator’s and the unified search API’s roadmap items was temporarily paused.

After evaluating the identified opportunity for a pivotal infrastructure upgrade to improve our product's overall performance and reliability for years to come, we’ve started implementing the defined target architecture. An updated status and timeline about testing and roll-out will be presented during the Q4 roadmap webinar on October 16, 2025.

      Recent feature releases

Browse fact sheet hierarchies while editing relations

We've increased the accuracy of selecting the correct related fact sheets—no more guessing or long list scanning. Multi-level hierarchies of fact sheets can make it complicated to pick the one you're looking for due to long, concatenated display names from the hierarchy. Similar naming components don't make it any easier.

An additional tree view in the edit mode of relations, next to the current list view, lets you traverse, expand, and collapse hierarchies to find a match quickly and confidently. The higher hierarchy levels are always in view without limiting readability. This view is the new default when editing relations on the fact sheet details page, but can be switched back with a single click that will be remembered.

On top of that, in the standard edit mode, you can add multiple relations simultaneously without opening the previously dedicated 'edit multiple' mode.

      Features in progress

Compare the content of different diagram versions

It's challenging to visually identify the disparities between two versions of a diagram edited by various users. To help you spot the changes and assess their significance, we will add a comparison of diagram versions in September, which was previously planned for a release in late July.

A side-by-side view with highlighted differences, combined with an additional text-based summary similar to a changelog, will offer instantaneous insights into what has changed in a diagram over time.

Make architecture decisions more expressive with diagrams

Diagrams make architecture visually understandable to foster decision-making. That's why you'll be able to add them to your architecture decisions in workspaces with SAP LeanIX Architecture and Road Map Planning by the end of September. Diagrams' expressiveness embedded in the context of other content will make it easy to illustrate a decision's details, compare different alternatives, and drive successful transformations through sustainable architectural decisions.

Send email notifications via Microsoft Exchange Online

In September, we'll provide a dedicated email configuration for sending notifications from your workspace via Microsoft Exchange Online, leveling up the security to the OAuth2 protocol. To set it up in the admin area's "Notification Center", you must enter your Microsoft Entra Tenant ID to register SAP LeanIX, request approval from an admin of your organization's Microsoft Entra, and prepare an Exchange Online mailbox security-wise by an admin.

Sending notifications via SMTP through other services, but Microsoft will remain unchanged. This change is necessary as Exchange Online will permanently remove support for Basic authentication (SMTP AUTH) from March 2026.
