Announcements
Reminder: Move to a new user authentication service before May 15, 2026
As previously announced, we've modernized our authentication service to make user login more convenient and support additional single sign-on (SSO) configurations. A new self-service SSO configuration is now available.
If you leverage SSO, please activate and configure one of the two new service options: just authentication or authentication and authorization before May 15, 2026.
If you don't use an SSO solution for your workspace login (authentication with username and password) or if you were onboarded to SAP LeanIX after July 2025, you don't need to take any action, as we have already transitioned you to the new service.
On the SAP Help portal, you can find configuration guides with examples for multiple identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID and Okta.
SAP LeanIX Academy moves to SAP Learning
All learning content of the SAP LeanIX Academy will be migrated to SAP Learning, so you can benefit from SAP's vast selection of learning offerings, live sessions, and certifications in one place. The SAP LeanIX Academy will be taken offline on February 28, 2026. All existing courses will be accessible on SAP Learning and remain free of charge, either without registration or with an SAP Universal ID. Thus, the learning content remains available to large audiences; no specific S-user profile is required.
There will be effects on your course history, fees and validity of certificates, and links:
Course history and certificates will not be available after the SAP LeanIX Academy site is taken offline. Download your course history and any certificates you want to keep before February 28, 2026.
After 28 February, any SAP LeanIX Academy links (e.g., https://academy.leanix.net/) will no longer work. The link in your workspace will redirect to a new landing page on SAP Learning.
SAP LeanIX certifications can be taken on the SAP Learning platform and are linked to a fee / paid subscription. They will need to be recertified after 12 months, with a short free assessment.
We have compiled more information, detailed instructions for downloading certificates and course history, and an FAQ in the SAP Help Portal. Additionally, we have reached out to the main workspace administrators via email to inform them about the upcoming changes. If you need further assistance, please reach out to your SAP LeanIX or SAP customer success contact.
Recent feature releases
Gain efficiency by creating diagrams from templates
Creating free draw and data flow diagrams from scratch is time‑consuming. To accelerate this, you can now build architectural diagrams from templates. In this initial release, you can define a template by choosing a base fact sheet type (e.g., application) and the relations and related fact sheets to display (interfaces, drill‑downs, dependencies). You can then save and use templates when creating new diagrams. This is ideal for enterprise architects and business stakeholders who need consistent layouts with varying content, enabling faster, recognizable, well‑structured diagrams.
Next, we plan to support multiple instances of the base fact sheet type within a single template, applying templates to existing free draw diagrams, previewing templates in the editor, and more advanced layout options. To view an explanatory video, please visit the original announcement.
Act on recommendations from a dedicated fact sheet tab
We believe that getting fact sheets into your workspace is just the beginning - ensuring your data is of high quality is crucial to making reliable decisions. We aim to support you in achieving higher overall data quality by analyzing your inventory and providing actionable recommendations.
To improve efficiency, we've consolidated recommendations for different fact sheet attributes into a single place: the new "Recommendations" tab. The first step for all fact sheets on this tab is leveraging the AI-assisted descriptions. When the description on application fact sheets is filled, you can review the recommendations regarding relations to business capabilities based on a semantic analysis of the description within your workspace. Further recommendations for additional attributes are in progress and will be added to the tab during the next months.
In addition to this consolidation, the recommendations remain available at their respective location.
Add AI agent discovery from AWS and MCP server discovery from Microsoft
We enhanced the functionality to discover AI agents and MCP servers by integrating with agent-building platforms and registry systems in two ways:
With AWS Bedrock Agents and AWS Bedrock AgentCore, we added two additional discovery sources to capture your AI agents and sync relevant metadata to the AI agent discovery inbox in SAP LeanIX.
Additionally, we released the discovery of MCP servers registered in the Microsoft Azure API Center. The discovery process identifies your MCP servers along with metadata such as name, description, URL, and lifecycle stage, and lists them in the AI agent discovery inbox.
By linking MCP servers and AI agents to applications and to each other, you gain a holistic view of connections and dependencies of AI-related components in your enterprise architecture landscape. This approach helps identify additional optimization opportunities, such as building agent chains, and promotes the reuse of existing tools. Over the coming quarters, we plan to add more MCP server information to our reference catalog to further support the discovery and management of MCP servers. Furthermore, we are exploring Databricks and ServiceNow as additional sources for AI agents.
Call APIs in automation actions and trigger them via relation changes
We have released two improvements that significantly expand the possibilities of using automations within your workspace.
First, you can now trigger automations when relations between fact sheets are created, updated (e.g., field value on a relation has changed), or deleted. This unlocks powerful automation scenarios for managing fact sheet relationships. Example scenarios:
Auto-notify on dependencies: Notify an application owner and a business capability owner when a critical application is linked to a business capability.
Maintain data quality: Send an email or trigger a different workflow when a relation's support type changes from "leading" to "supporting".
Enforce governance: Tag an IT component with the tag "Review" when its relation to a Tech Category is removed.
Secondly, you can now configure scripts that call the SAP LeanIX APIs to perform actions within automations. This allows you to configure simple or cascaded automation scenarios, reducing manual effort. It eliminates the need for third-party solutions, as the scripts run in a secure environment within SAP LeanIX.
For example, you can initiate the following actions:
Inherit subscriptions from related fact sheets: If you add IT components to an application, existing subscriptions from the application will be automatically added to all related IT components. Changes of subscribers can be inherited and synced in the same way. You can even visualize on the fact sheet that the subscription was inherited.
Roll-up relations from a child to a parent: If you link an application to a parent application, it inherits all business context relations of the parent application. This can save you time in setting up your process and application management on different hierarchy levels and keeping them in sync.
Change field values on related fact sheets: If an initiative reaches the end of life, the quality seal of all impacted applications breaks, to ensure they are reviewed and updated.
If you need to set up multiple automations for a single scenario, you can reuse a script across them. Relying on agentic coding tools, such as Claude Code or others, to write scripts on your behalf is an additional efficiency booster.
The above examples are only a glimpse of what is possible, as the automations are highly customizable according to your use cases and needs, and since you can leverage any SAP LeanIX API. The biggest impact might be with the Pathfinder REST API, as it allows you to edit fact sheet details. Additionally, you can consider scenarios that leverage the APIs for surveys, user management, or to-dos.
Find help on setting up the integrations, as well as tutorials for the above-mentioned examples, in the SAP Help Portal. We will enrich it with further examples during the next weeks. To view an explanatory video, please visit the original announcement.

Keep fact sheet data in sync with Jira Asset & Configuration Management
The disciplines of enterprise architecture (EA) and IT service management (ITSM) are closely related and complementary. EA and ITSM work together to enhance synergy among people, processes, business, technology, and information. Atlassian's Jira Asset & Configuration Management is an IT service management tool that allows companies to manage IT assets and configuration items, quickly troubleshoot incidents, and minimize the risk of changes.
By the end of February, we will be releasing an integration between SAP LeanIX and Jira Asset & Configuration Management. With this new integration, workspaces with SAP LeanIX Technology Risk and Compliance will gain several key benefits:
Automatic synchronization of software and hardware components from Jira into SAP LeanIX, with the corresponding IT component fact sheets created seamlessly. This synchronization also enables you to manage obsolescence risk, helping you proactively identify and mitigate technology risks.
Synchronization of existing applications from SAP LeanIX into Jira, providing greater transparency into the application portfolio and fostering stronger collaboration between enterprise architecture and IT operations.
By integrating with the Jira ITSM solution, we empower organizations to enhance visibility into their technology landscape, ensure compliance with standards, and extend the impact of enterprise architecture on IT operations, ultimately driving transformation.
Let AI guide you with actionable architecture recommendations
In today's fast-paced business environment, continually analyzing your IT landscape to identify opportunities for improvement is essential for optimizing your enterprise architecture, driving cost efficiency, and mitigating technical debt. While gathering detailed information is crucial, we're elevating our capabilities by providing AI-driven insights and recommendations to enhance your IT landscape analysis.
We aim to introduce a new feature that provides you with actionable recommendations to identify key areas for improvement and cost-saving potentials within your IT landscape. This architectural guidance is a step towards transforming your workspace from a powerful analysis tool to an active EA assistant. Our initial version will deliver a first set of AI-generated insights, which will expand in scope and sophistication over the course of the year.
From a technical perspective, the feature is ready for release this quarter. In parallel, we want to ensure the recommendations are implemented in a way that protects your data's safety at all times. We are currently working out these data management topics and will inform you once we have an update on the release.
Create transformations utilizing the SAP LeanIX MCP Server
With the launch of the SAP LeanIX MCP server, we included a range of toolsets that enable AI agents to interact with your workspace data. This includes searching for transformations, understanding different transformation types, and displaying milestones. By the end of Q1, we plan to include initial write capabilities in the MCP server's toolset. This will enable you to utilize the MCP server to create transformations, initiatives, and milestones. It will also serve as an enabler for the AI-assisted Architecture Guidance roadmap item.
