To enhance the scope of data coming from the reference catalog to fact sheets, we've added three fields to the information section (subsection 'Name & Description') of the business capability fact sheet type. They provide more information about the context of business capability.

      • Relevance for Industries: Organizations often operate in multiple industries, and your business capability map will represent them holistically. This field allows you to set focus and filter on only those business capabilities relevant to specific industries.

      • Enterprise Domain: This categorizes business capabilities into the four enterprise domains: 'Customer', 'Corporate', 'Products and Services', and 'Supply'. It also allows for filtering to specific areas to get an overview of related business capabilities without getting overwhelmed with the capabilities of the other enterprise domains.

      • SAP Reference ID: Unique identifier of the business capability as part of the reference architecture used across SAP products (in our initial announcement, this field was introduced as 'Catalog ID'). It provides a reference when using the same content in other tools (e.g., SAP Signavio Process Explorer).

The fields are only directly visible on fact sheets if they have a value specified. On the business capability fact sheets that have been imported from or linked to the reference catalog, the values of all three fields are filled automatically, although it can take until the day after tomorrow for all the fields to get populated. Manually editing them is possible, but it's not advised, as it may result in inconsistency when importing further catalog items.

Workspace admins can move the fields into other sections when they see benefits in that or move them into the 'Unused Fields and Relations' section to hide them on the fact sheets.

Also, the existing field 'Catalog Status' is now used to manage the linking status correctly again. The status field on business capabilities hasn't been used as intended since the release of the reference business architecture in May 2024.
