We'll introduce three additional fields to the information section ('Name & Description' subsection) of the business capability fact sheet type during the week of January 13. The following fields will enhance the available information when importing business capabilities from the reference catalog:

      • Relevance for Industries: Information about which industries the business capability is relevant for

      • Enterprise Domain: Classification of business capabilities into the four enterprise domains 'Customer', 'Corporate', 'Products and Services', and 'Supply'

      • Catalog ID: An identifier of the business capability as part of the reference architecture used across SAP products

When importing the fact sheets from the reference catalog, the values of all three fields will be filled automatically. Although manually editing them is possible, it's not advised, as it may result in inconsistency when importing further catalog items. Workspace admins can move the fields into other sections when they see benefits in that or move them into the 'Unused Fields' section to hide them on the fact sheet details page.

At the same time as the three fields are introduced, the existing field 'Catalog Status' will again be used to manage the linking status correctly. The status field on business capabilities hasn't been used as intended since the release of the reference business architecture in May 2024.
