Reference business architecture in the catalog

As part of SAP, LeanIX has access to business architecture knowledge gathered by architects who have worked with thousands of customers in all industries for decades. We're excited to share vendor-agnostic best practices from this experience with you by incorporating them into our catalog's reference data. Our goal is to level up our entire business capability recommendations to more depth, provide additional industry-specific guidance, and, of course, update them continuously.

With this goal in mind, we've added access to the 'Reference Business Architecture' in the admin area's 'Reference Catalogs' section next to the existing business capability recommendations, which will eventually be replaced in the future.

Leveraging this new catalog content will give you more targeted guidance when building or improving your business capability map or planning initiatives such as an ERP transformation.

When using the LeanIX Architecture and Road Map Planning product (formerly BTM) and either linking your existing business capabilities to the reference item or importing them, LeanIX can now suggest a suitable combination of SAP applications designed to support the specific business capability. Admin users can turn off the application suggestions when they are not of interest to their organization.

For the next iteration of this feature, we plan to provide predefined transformations to model the rollout of the recommended applications that can be adopted to accelerate transformation planning.
