Public Cloud Tagging and Cloud Spend Extraction

We are happy to launch the following improvements for your Value Stream Management Workspace in addition to our recently announced Public Cloud Integration.

Cloud Account Tagging

Tags/labels are now extracted from AWS Accounts, Azure Resource Groups, and Google Cloud Projects and stored on the corresponding Cloud Account Fact Sheet.

Both tags and labels could be used for deriving a mapping from the Cloud Account to Software Artifacts. This is helping engineering leaders to gather deeper information on their public cloud footprint.

Cloud Tags as LeanIX VSM Tags

Whitelisted tags/labels can now be imported as LeanIX VSM tags for Compute Environment and Cloud Account Fact Sheets.
Consult our documentation on how this can be implemented.

Cloud Spend Extraction

We now extract AWS Accounts, and Azure Resource Groups costs as part of the automated public cloud scan. The costs are part of the Cloud Account Fact Sheet. On the Fact Sheet, itself costs are displayed for yesterday and the last 30 days. Detailed costs on a daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly basis are displayed under Metrics of the Cloud Account Fact Sheet.

This improvement will help engineering leaders and product managers to gain better insights into their public cloud spending on a product level and identify cost trends and outliers.
