Today, the next generation diagram editor is available for EAM and VSM users. It is based on a state-of-the-art diagramming solution used by millions of users every day that's now embedded seamlessly into LeanIX to further enhance Solution and Business Architecture support.

With the upgraded modeling capabilities, users can now compose diagrams based on established standards (e.g., UML, BPMN, network diagrams) leveraging a significantly extended set of shapes ranging from AWS, Azure, and GCP to C4 and ArchiMate and an updated shape library for Solutions Architecture as well as create Business Architecture diagrams such as Value Stream- and Customer/ Employee Journeys maps, as well as Business process models. This enhancement also includes the import of content from diagrams.net and Microsoft Visio charts.

LeanIX admins can enable the next-generation diagram editor from Administration >> Advanced Settings >> Optional Features & Early Access': 'Next Generation Diagram Editor'. Once enabled, users will have the additional option "Next Generation Diagram Editor" when creating a new diagram, alongside the existing options "Free Draw," "Data Flow," and "Lucidchart."

As a next step, LeanIX will integrate the architecture data from the Inventory with the new diagrams editor. LeanIX will also provide guided support for users in their Solution- and Business Architecture journey through templates (comparable to the available Data Flow visualizations for Integration Architecture).

For more information about this feature, please consult the "Next Generation Diagram Editor" section in the LeanIX user documentation and stay tuned to the product updates to be informed about the next exciting features that will be added.
