The following improvements have been implemented in the past week:

Catalog:

  • The reference catalog in workspaces with SAP LeanIX Technology Risk and Compliance contains vendor and lifecycle information on more than 53,000 IT components. To provide more guidance on which level of detail best to represent different versions of IT components in your inventory, we've aggregated thousands of patch and build-level versions of products in the catalog to their respective major (Microsoft Visual Studio 17) or minor versions (e.g., Microsoft Visual Studio 17.8).

Guidelines:

  • With the introduction of the meta model V4 in the summer of 2023, we've introduced multiple subtypes to fact sheets, providing additional modeling guidance. Although it was not part of the meta-model, our updated documentation provided guidelines on application fact sheet subtypes for deployments and microservices.

The respective documentation pages have now been revised to add more clarity through details and examples. Read the updated application modeling guidelines to understand better which software architecture elements best use an application, deployment, microservice, or IT component fact sheet. Dedicate descriptions go into the details of deployment and microservice modeling.

Administration:

  • A new maintenance mode for workspaces can be activated on demand while significant configuration changes are made. While the maintenance is active, only admin users can access the workspace, whereas all users with different roles are informed about it and prevented from logging in. The new mode prevents new user logins, but users with active logins are not automatically logged out. We recommend activating the mode for a short, planned period.
