The following feature improvements have been implemented, and bugs fixed in the past week:

      Inventory

      • We’ve enhanced the fact sheet creation form to respect user permissions better:

        • For users without permission to create IT components and application fact sheets, the catalog and search step is bypassed, so they start with the step to create the fact sheet manually.

        • For users with permission to create at least one of these fact sheet types, the catalog search results only include the types they can create.

      Diagrams

      • We’ve enhanced the diagram editor in several areas to improve its usability and ensure consistency across SAP LeanIX

        • Clearer Diagram Identification: The header now indicates the diagram type or template followed by the diagram name, making it easier to distinguish and quickly understand each diagram's context.

        • More Accessible Save & Exit Buttons: The 'Save' and 'Exit' buttons are now conveniently placed in the top-right corner of the header for quick access.

        • Improved Saving Options: The 'Save' button now has a dropdown menu with two options to either 'Save' (default for data flow and free draw diagrams) or 'Save As' (default for fact sheet shape templates)

        • Quick Access to Documentation: The help menu now includes links to the SAP LeanIX user documentation based on the diagram type or template you edit, as well as a link to external documentation from draw.io for general diagram editor features.

      • When linking a shape to a fact sheet, the shape's label text is now automatically used as the search term for finding relevant fact sheets. You can clear the search field if you wish to search for a different name. Additionally, we’ve introduced the option to open the filter modal, providing more advanced and refined filtering options for fact sheet searches while linking shapes to fact sheets.

      Discoveries

      • To maintain consistency and ensure a better user experience, we have updated the following components within the discovery inbox:

        • Simple filters: Updated filtering component for a streamlined experience.

        • Scrollable table: Horizontally scrollable table to easily view data that extends beyond the screen width.

        • Page header: Updated button sizes within the page header to improve visual balance.

      Reference catalog

      • We’ve improved the matching algorithm for the reference catalog and made minor enhancements to the user interface.

        • Subversions of IT components and parent-child relationships are considered very high matches (score of 100)

        • The 'Reference Catalog' section on the inventory side pane shows the number of fact sheets with a high confidence matching in parentheses. From here, you can navigate to the reference catalog to proceed with linking. We’ve also made minor improvements to the linking status tile on the side pane of the fact sheet details page.

      • Admins can now grant viewers and custom user roles permission to link business capabilities from the reference catalog to fact sheets, as well as unlink and update them to the latest version. Previously, only admins and members could perform these actions. To adjust these permissions, in the 'Meta Model Configuration' section of the admin area, select the business capability fact sheet and enable the 'Update' permission on the 'Catalog Status' field for the respective roles.
