TBM Taxonomy preview for Tech Categories

The first step towards the upcoming Tech Category Catalog aligned with the TBM Taxonomy Version 4.0 is now available as an optional feature. Admins can activate it by navigating to the 'Advanced settings - Optional Features & Early Access' section in the admin area and clicking on 'Activate' next to the 'Tech Category Catalog' feature.

To improve the understanding of the TBM Taxonomy and prepare for mapping your existing Tech Categories to the standard, admins can download an Excel file on the 'Reference data' section's 'Tech Category Catalog' tab once the feature has been activated. The spreadsheet contains these sheets:

• An overview of the Standard TBM Taxonomy service layer with its types, categories, service names & definition, and examples.

• The entire list of current Tech Categories of the workspace with recommendations for their mapping to the TBM Taxonomy.

• For workspace with the TRM module: The list of all IT Components linked to the Lifecycle Catalog with their mapping to TBM-based Tech Categories.

A wizard will be available to import, merge, and manage your individual TBM-based Tech Categories from the catalog in an upcoming release. Also, in workspaces with the TRM module, when linking or having linked IT Components to items in the Lifecycle Catalog, their relation to the respective TBM Tech Category will automatically be created.
