Here's the outlook for September 2024:

User permissions not based on fact sheets

Just like the non-admin user permission for survey management introduced in June, we'll let admins grant selected user role permissions for more features unrelated to the meta model in September.

Following the industry standard of the principle of least privilege, users will no longer require full admin permissions to manage specific parts of their work, like managing report collections. This will enable admins to lower the user role from admin to a custom role for users to whom they've delegated particular tasks. Users with such permissions will be granted access to the admin area, which will only include the option to access the respective management of the granted features.

In this first iteration, we aim to add permissions for the following features, while further domains will be added later:

      • Saved searches, reports, and diagrams

      • Collections

      • Presentations

      • Portals

      • Surveys (already existing)

      Enhance enterprise architecture decision-making

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of a 4-6 week early adopter program for our new architecture decisions tool in October. We seek the participation of about ten organizations willing to use the feature and provide feedback to shape the continued development of SAP LeanIX.

Your workspace serves as the central repository for enterprise architecture data. However, users often store decisions on their architecture in tools like SharePoint, Confluence, and emails. We aim to integrate the management and documentation of architecture decisions into your workspace's collaboration tab so that everything is in one place.

Fill out this short form to indicate your interest in participating in the program. The only prerequisites are a workspace with the Architecture and Roadmap Planning product and acknowledgment that architecture decisions documented during this phase will be removed from the workspaces at the program's conclusion.

Create surveys that cover fields on relations

With an update to surveys in September, we enhance surveys by allowing creators to incorporate fields on relations directly into questions on fact sheet elements. Users will be able to select and include specific fields from relations in their survey questions, providing greater flexibility. With this improvement, we aim to support comprehensive data collection through surveys and fostering collaboration.

      Discover SaaS through Zscaler

Zscaler offers cloud-based services that protect enterprise networks and data by securely connecting users, devices, and applications. In September, a new integration to Zscaler will extend the available system sources to discover SaaS used in your organization.

Two weeks ago, we entered an early adopter phase with users who shared their interest in leveraging this integration to identify business-managed SaaS apps on the respective roadmap item. If you still want to join before general availability, leave your feedback on the roadmap item.
