Public Cloud integration: size and version extraction for serverless Cloud Services
The Public Cloud integration now extracts the size and version of serverless Cloud Services from AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This helps users understand dependencies on the platform and surface technical risk resulting from deprecated or no longer supported runtime environments. For example, AWS announced the end of support for Python 2.7 on AWS Lambda. By querying the LeanIX VSM workspace users can immediately understand whether they still have that specific version running in their environments.
The two attributes, size and version, are displayed as attributes on the respective Compute Environment Fact Sheet. The version represents the information provided by the respective cloud provider about the version of the runtime environment, and the size stands for the memory size requested from the underlying platform.
Please note that the extraction is not possible for all types of Cloud Services, and not for all instances. Hence, in some cases, the size and version information might not be available based on missing data from the underlying cloud environment.
