Manage data products as part of your enterprise architecture

Until now, data products lived in specialized catalogs like Collibra with no link to your application landscape, no shared inventory with other architecture objects, and no lifecycle visibility at the portfolio level.

With this release, we introduce a new Collibra Data Catalog integration, enabling enterprise architects to govern data products within the same inventory as their applications and business capabilities, so they can understand the impact of transformations, monitor AI data usage, and manage compliance from a single place.

The integration brings data products into your discovery inbox with key attributes already pre-filled, based on your configured mapping. You review each item and decide what to include in your inventory.

To get the most out of the integration, we recommend activating the optional data product fact sheet type for your meta model when you are ready. The activation enables data governance visualizations, such as seeing all data products produced or consumed by applications and how the data objects they realize are classified.

Support for additional data catalogs, relationships discovery, and further automation will follow later this year.

If you've activated the meta model extension already in the 24 hours prior to this announcement, you might have temporarily experienced a bug in the naming convention of the data product fact sheet type, showing "/" signs as a separator. This has been corrected to the logic: <fact sheet name> | <source data catalog> <data product version>.
