EAM weekly feature improvement & bugfix summary

The following feature improvements have been implemented, and bugs fixed in the past week:

Diagrams:

  • An updated caching logic improves the user experience when loading diagrams. It's combined with a new visual indicator ('Updating diagram') shown in the view mode of diagrams while the shapes are visible already, but additional data (e.g., for the selected view) is still being loaded in the background. The content of large diagrams and those embedded in dashboard panels is now visible considerably faster.

  • You can now add connector lines to Fact Sheets in drill-down containers to visualize hierarchical and further dependencies together. On Data Flow diagrams, this enables expanding into Interfaces of child and parent Fact Sheets directly from the container. Also, we've slightly increased the space between the container line and dill-down Fact Sheet shapes to prevent the expand icons from overlapping.
Matching this behavior in Free Draw diagrams, applying 'Show dependencies' no longer adds an additional instance of the drill-down Fact Sheet to the canvas but a connector line to the Fact Sheet inside the container.

  • A bug has been fixed that caused the labels of drill-down Fact Sheets to disappear after selecting a different label. A fallback to the 'Full Name' label has been introduced in case no label is selected.

  • When users with restricted read permissions for custom fields on certain Fact Sheets open a diagram containing one of those Fact Sheets, they only see an according error message when the custom field is present in the diagram's view.

Reports:

  • On January 2, 2024, we removed the 'Detailed (LEGACY)' legacy layout mode on Landscape reports in favor of the refined 'Detailed' layout mode. The new layout mode has been optimized based on user feedback (e.g., enriched with icons indicating the cluster's Fact Sheet type, adjusted spacing between report elements, less white spaces). Of note: Reports saved with the legacy mode automatically open in the new mode, and wrapping the clusters over multiple rows can be deactivated in the report settings.

Survey:

  • Following your feedback regarding the effect of decommissioning Fact Sheet segments in surveys, particularly the inability to add fields on relations via Fact Sheet elements in surveys, we extended the decommissioning date of Fact Sheet segments from January 1, 2024 to February 29, 2024. This extension will allow you to proceed with existing survey activities for two more months to collect data on fields on relations.
In Q1 2024, the survey administration will move into the central 'Collaboration' tab, and for Q2 2024, we plan to augment the capabilities of Fact Sheets elements to embed fields on relations in surveys.

Automations:

  • When creating an Automation with a trigger on Fact Sheet subscriptions and the workspace's general setting of 'Subscription Mode' is set to 'required', filling in the subscription type is now mandatory for the Automation action.

Integrations:

  • The interface to configure the ServiceNow integration's mapping of relations now opens instantly because the mapping configuration is no longer loaded upfront but while accessing it.

Accessibility:

  • All tabs in the entire application's user interface (e.g., filter sidebar on the left of the inventory or the Fact Sheet details page) now act with the matching tab role for screen readers. The same applies to drop-down elements to set the quality seal and subscription role at the top of the Fact Sheet details page.
