Authenticate your Jira Cloud integration with OAuth

The Jira integration in workspaces with SAP LeanIX Architecture and Road Map Planning now supports OAuth-based authentication for Jira Cloud. This removes a hard adoption barrier that has prevented many enterprise customers from enabling the integration.

Previously, the integration relied on a personal access token (PAT) to authenticate, which does not meet the security and compliance requirements of many organizations. OAuth is a mandatory requirement under many enterprise security policies for connecting third-party systems to Jira Cloud, and without it, the integration cannot be adopted, regardless of its functional value.

With OAuth now supported, you can connect Jira Cloud to your workspace in a way that aligns with Jira Cloud best practices and your internal security standards, without exceptions or workarounds. Next, we will work on OAuth for Jira Server and bring in project participants and subscribers.

Note: this update applies to the Jira integration for SAP LeanIX Architecture and Road Map Planning. It does not affect the Jira Marketplace app (available in the Atlassian Marketplace) or the Jira Service Management integration.
