      A new API Catalog surfaces APIs of self-built software in a centralized API repository in VSM. Combined with the Service Catalog, it allows a comprehensive understanding of an organization's service architecture by capturing how the elements are connected.

      The information on the API Catalog helps determine which APIs are in use, their maturity and criticality level, public or internal availability of APIs, and which Services are providing and consuming which APIs. For custom grouping, tags can also be applied to APIs.

      Ideal data sources for the API Catalog are the VSM REST endpoints. A manual option is available if no automatic data intake or scraping from existing API documentation in external systems is possible. Please find more details on when and how to use an API Catalog in the User Documentation.
