Announcement: Discontinued support for dot characters in measurement names

The REST API won't support dot characters ('.') in the name of measurements for metrics anymore since the dot character has a special meaning to the technology behind the service. To prevent the creation of such measurement names, the service will return an error code 400 from October 28. Customers using a dot in the measurement names have been informed, and we will ensure that any such measurements can be renamed.
