Until now, agents only had default access to a predefined set of tools. Reaching additional toolsets required manually configuring the connection.

Progressive tool discovery removes that limitation. With it enabled, every toolset is available from the first connection, with no configuration required. Agents find the tools they need on demand, and performance stays consistent as the MCP server continues to grow. You can enable it in the MCP server section within the administration area.

We are rolling out progressive tool discovery as an opt-in because existing agents and skills may behave differently with it enabled. Test it with your agents and skills, and once you are satisfied with the results, keep it enabled for your workspace. We plan to make progressive tool discovery the default for all workspaces at a later date, with the option to opt out, and will communicate that change in advance.
