Custom SAP developments such as Fiori apps, BTP extensions, and low-code builds have long sat alongside standard SAP software in the application landscape without a dedicated classification. Two releases give them a better home.

The application fact sheet now supports a new subtype "Extension", purpose-built for self-built SAP developments. Three existing SAP discovery integrations (SAP Build, SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry, and SAP BTP, Kyma Runtime) now classify discovered items under this subtype. A new SAP Cloud ALM application library integration is also now available, complementing the existing SAP Cloud ALM integration. It serves as a central repository for documenting technical and business elements for SAP custom-built developments. Discovered items arrive in the SAP discovery inbox as extensions, ready for review. If you are using SAP Signavio together with SAP Cloud ALM, the integration also suggests links to related process fact sheets, giving you a single trusted backbone for extension insights across transformation roadmaps and cloud migrations. To compare the scope of the two SAP Cloud ALM integrations, see the SAP Help portal.

For the four integrations to leverage the new subtype, activate the SAP Extension Discovery meta model extension under Administration > Optional Features and Early Access. When you configure an integration for the first time, you will also be prompted to activate it. Fact sheets of type application and subtype business application, which were linked to discovered items via the aforementioned discovery integrations, will be migrated to the new subtype.
